Te Aratai College now has a Weights Gym!

Ever since the Te Aratai campus opened in 2022, pupils and PE teachers alike have wanted to establish a Weights gym. Weights gyms are now common in secondary schools, as many students want to keep fit and build strength. Now this wish is being fulfilled.

After two or so years of working out how this could be achieved, a space has now been identified in the Gym block – a perfect location. Up until now, this space had to be improvised as classroom space due to roll growth but now with the arrival of new classrooms, the school has been able to return it to its original purpose as a gym space. Thanks to a successful application put forward by the Foundation to Pub Charity* and a very generous donation by local solicitors Saunders and Co. an array of assorted weights equipment has now been purchased for the gym.

*Pub Charity has a clear focus on putting in resources in areas where their establishments are located. Thanks to both Pub Charity Ltd and Saunders and Co for helping to make the weights gym a reality!
