Making a Bequest
If you are considering making a bequest/s in your will, a bequest to Linwood Te Aratai Foundation is a very significant and special way of supporting the future success of our Students.
There are several ways in which you can nominate your gift.
- A Specified Sum
This is a very common form of bequest where you specify a fixed amount. However it is recommended that you review your will every five years. - A Percentage Bequest
This allows for a specific percentage/proportion of your estate to be bequeathed to the Trust. - A Residuary Bequest
You may leave the balance of your estate to the Trust after all other expenses have been deducted. - Gift of Assets
You may prefer to leave a specified gift to the Trust, for example a property, shares, stocks, bonds, jewellery, works of art or other gifts you wish to nominate. These may be retained by the Trust as a capital investment or sold to raise funds.
If you would like to make a bequest/gift to the Linwood Te Aratai Foundation Trust in your will please consult your lawyer/solicitor or financial advisor.
If you would like to talk over the possibility of making a bequest, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Testimonial – Rory Butler and Christine Rogers
We both started at Linwood High School in 1957 (having earlier sat beside each other in Primer 2 at Linwood North Primary back in 1949). She went on to Teachers’ Training College after her Form 6B year and, a year later I went on to Canterbury University. We both thoroughly enjoyed our time at LHS. We had great teachers and great friends. I had a couple of years as a lab boy in Room 1, became the school photographer for some years, and eventually ended up as RSM of the cadets. We both became prefects, Chris in 1960 and I in 1961.
We decided to make a small monthly donation to the new college in recognition of our happy times at Linwood. Hopefully, over the years, this will amount to a useful sum and we’d encourage others to do the same. Just imagine the results if one percent of ex-students joined us.
