We are pleased to announce the 2025 recipient of the Linwood Te Aratai Foundation Stationery Award, funded by Past Pupil Garth Stevenson, Linwood High School 1955-58, is Sophia Brinsdon-Barclay (Tainui, Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāpuhi).
The Stationery Award is presented each year to a high-achieving Year 13 student. The choice of student is made by Te Aratai staff and recognises the student’s hard work and academic achievement.
In 2025 Sophia has been a Māori Kahui (Prefect) and achieved First Place in Te Reo Māori Level 3.
Last year she achieved: First Place Equal in Te Ao Haka and First Place in Te Reo Māori Level 2.
She will also receive a Māori Entrance Scholarship – in recognition of academic excellence and engagement in Te Ao Māori.
Sophie has been accepted in the halls of residence at Otago University.
